Salty Dog Saloon

What’s Up?! It’s Scooter coming back at ya. Got some fantastic news about 30A, and with so many things to talk about, I don’t know where to start. Let’s start at the opening of the new Salty Dog Saloon were the old Snapperheads last rested. It was a big night with a lot of new faces. Some of the old school locals even came out. This location has always been a local and tourist favorite hot spot for live music and great food. Owner Jim Richard and GM Stan were on hand for opening night with live music by The Steenos with Washboard Jackson, and followed by the Loco Trio ending the night. Billy Johnson even picked up some live footage of both bands. Make sure you check it out. Look for Hubba Hubba on Sunday the 29th. This will be the party!!!

Everything turned out great, from the large crowd to the wonderful food, for an opening night. I had the crab claws and fries. It brought me back to being a kid growing up in the small fishing town of Destin. From an outsider’s view, it looked like Jim and Christian did an awesome job in the kitchen, and Stan was able to hold down the bar. The menu has everything: burgers, wings, seafood, steaks and even the Totally Vegetarian Dude. Make sure you partake in the signature drink, The Salty Dog. It is a fresh squeezed Grapefruit and Sky Vodka with a little bit of salt around the rim. Be careful, they will sneak up on ya. This will be a must stop at night for music and fun.
